Night’s lament

Standing at the edge of the water

Dancing in and out of the spray

A laugh followed with a sob

Wind whips through my hair

As it streams behind me

It seamlessly blends into the shade of night

The silent wish of my heart

Cast out into the coming storm

Am I a star?

Some thought so…

A scent that is remembered

Dispersed among the waves beyond

Unreachable

Emeralds scattered into the depths

A yearning memory evoked by the fiery hue

The rays of the setting sun.

The shadows whisper, beckoning

Argentine moon overhead

Its silver light silences the dark invitation

Once lost, suddenly found

The only exit is through this

A road that leads into the wilds

Down painted corridors

Duty, the quietude of a knelt form

Am I a star?

My light needs to be hidden

Lest it call to those who would extinguish it

I shelter within the moon’s radiance

Hoping for the promise of the coming dawn

Forging a blade and honing its edge

Rosy petals fly in the breeze

Dancing among them

Their sweet fragrance envelopes me

Am I a star?

I cannot be

My light fails to cross the waves

Lost my treasure among the icy depths

The waters have claimed them

Ocean is deeper with the addition of my tears

I must strive on

I do not know how I will change

An adventure that is not planned

Yet..

I dream of that scent, of dew laden clover

I dream of gold blessed with crimson

I dream of emeralds scattered upon the sandy strand

Where the salty waters kiss the land
